Spirit teams from Jeffco competed at the CHSAA state spirit championships in Denver on Dec. 9 and 10. Wheat Ridge High School's poms and cheers, along with Standley Lake High Schools cheer team advanced to the finals.
Valor defeated Pomona 30-14, but the Panthers' faithful fans were proud of the accomplishments by Pomona during its 12-2 record and second straight 5A state runner-up trophy.
