Five weeks ago, Anna Hall’s ankle was in a boot and with her final Colorado track and field state championships in doubt, the Valor Christian senior wasn’t doing much smiling around that time.
As the two-day Class 3A girls tennis state championship came to a close Saturday afternoon, Peak to Peak emerged as the team champion, and the Pumas’ Trisha Somasundaram picked up her second No. 1 singles championship in as many seasons.
The volleys, break points, and aces are never more important than during the final week of the season. After all, this is the state tournament. The stakes are just higher.
