The Broomfield wrestling program with Pat DeCamillis at the helm won three individual state championships to capture their second-consecutive Class 4A team title Saturday night at the Pepsi Center.
With an 11-2 major decision victory in the 160-pound state finals bracket, Broomfield’s Phil Downing gave his opponent one more loss than Dawson ever experienced on the floor at Pepsi Center.
Cherry Creek won two games all of last season. The Bruins have now won two games in two days of the state hockey playoffs, and are headed to the Frozen Four.
