Cherry Creek used a strong defensive effort, including a late fumble recovery, to beat Columbine 10-7 in the Class 5A football semifinals on Friday night.
Regis Jesuit, the No. 16 seed in the Class 5A football playoffs, raced out to a 41-0 halftime lead, and then went on to beat No. 17 Smoky Hill 48-14 on Friday night.
