Air Academy girls basketball beat Rifle in the Class 4A girls basketball tournament on Wednesday, avenging a playoff loss to the Bears that occurred a year ago.
Pueblo West connected on 11 free throws in the final eight minutes of the game to beat Discovery Canyon 72-63 in the second round of the Class 4A boys state basketball tournament.
In the two regular season meetings between Pueblo South and Pueblo County, the score was close at halftime, but the Colts found a way to pull away with the game.
