CENTENNIAL — A top-three hockey showdown ended in a 2-2 tie as No. 1 Regis Jesuit faced No. 3 Ralston Valley on Friday.
Regis Jesuit (16-0-1-0, 12-0-1-0 Foothills Conference) jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a goal from Connor Brennan at the end of the second period.
Ralston Valley (15-1-1-0, 9-2-0-0) came roaring back, with Ian Snedden knotting the game at one and Tony Salazar giving the Mustangs the lead with just two minutes to go.
The Raiders didn’t give up, and Jack Jordan scored the tying goal with 44 seconds to go.
Regis Jesuit goalie Sam Gartner saved 24 of 26 shots, while Ralston Valley goalie Scott Albertoni saved 13 of 15.
