Ten fall sports open their season on Monday, the first day they can officially open practice.

Starting practice on Monday include: boys and girls cross country, field hockey, football, gymnastics, boys soccer, softball, spirit, boys tennis and volleyball.

Boys golf kicked off the 2017-18 when it opened practice last Monday. It started competition last Thursday, as well.

Boys tennis’ regular season will be the next to start, opening scrimmages and matches on Thursday. Softball follows that by beginning competition on Friday.

All other sports, except for football, can begin scrimmages on Saturday, and competition on Aug. 24.

Football scrimmages can begin on Aug. 24, and teams can also hold Zero Week games starting that same day — though they can’t scrimmage beforehand if they choose to do so. Week 1 games begin on Aug. 31.

Fall’s championship season begins with boys golf on Oct. 2-3, and continues through football’s large-school championship games on Dec. 2.

All important dates can be found on the 2017-18 calendar.
