The Class 4A boys soccer semifinals will play as scheduled Wednesday night despite overnight snow in the area.
But that same snowstorm, which left behind a few inches around the state, has pushed the 5A and 3A semifinals to Thursday because of unplayable field conditions.
So the 4A games, scheduled for 5 and 7 p.m. at Legacy Stadium in Aurora, are good to go on Wednesday.
Cheyenne Mountain and Evergreen play in the 5 p.m. game, with Standley Lake and The Classical Academy following at 7 p.m.
The sites of 3A (All-City Stadium) and 5A (Sports Authority Stadium) will not be playable on Wednesday, and have been moved as a result. The 3A games will now be at noon and 2 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, the 5A games have also moved to noon and 2 p.m. Thursday.
“We’ve moved those games because their fields are unplayable,” said CHSAA assistant commissioner Bud Ozzello, who oversees boys soccer. “We have to keep the safety of the players at the forefront.”
