Jefferson Academy names Cory Hughes new boys lacrosse coach

Jefferson Academy has named Cory Hughes as its boys lacrosse coach, athletic director Mike Wilson announced in an email on Wednesday.

Hughes, a Colorado native, graduated from Mullen High School and played collegiate club lacrosse at Colorado State University.

Upon graduation he coached for various club teams in northern Colorado and became the defensive coach for Columbine’s varsity program.

“As the head coach for the Jefferson Academy Jaguars Boys Lacrosse teams, he is excited to introduce to the Broomfield area the first high school Lacrosse program in many years,” Wilson said in the email. “He plans to continue the JA legacy of top tier athletics and academics with its strong character emphasis.”

The Jaguars will begin play in the spring of 2016.
