The Colorado high school hockey Frozen Four will be held at Budweiser Events Center, CHSAA announced on Friday.

The event is hosted by the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche, a major supporter of high school hockey, which has helped to raise the sport’s profile and level of play in recent years.

Budweiser Events Center, which sits just off of I-25 in Loveland, was selected as the host site for the event, which will feature Class 4A and 5A games for the first time in the history of the sport.

All games will be held March 16-18:

  • March 16: 5A semifinals (5:30 p.m. & 8:30 p.m.)
  • March 17: 4A semifinals (5:30 p.m. & 8:30 p.m.)
  • March 18: 4A championship (5:30 p.m.)
  • March 18: 5A championship (8:30 p.m.)

Budweiser Events Center, home of the AHL’s Colorado Eagles, has hosted the state hockey championships before, most recently in 2016. It also serves as a host site for the state basketball tournament.

Information regarding capacity limitations for fans will be announced at a later date.
