Dante Orlando scored the winning goal in overtime to lift No. 1 Cherry Creek to a 10-9 win over No. 6 Regis Jesuit on Monday.
The Bruins, who moved up to No. 1 on Monday, are now 8-0 this season, including 6-0 against in-state competition.
Regis Jesuit led the game 4-2 at halftime, and 6-4 after three quarters. But Cherry Creek rallied with a 5-3 advantage in the fourth quarter to force overtime, and then won it in that extra frame.
The Bruins’ schedule stays tough this week: They host No. 3 Grandview on Wednesday.
