Seeding for the Class 3A state basketball tournament has been moved from Sunday to Tuesday because on district will not be able to complete play until Monday.
The Intermountain district tournament had to delay its semifinals and championship rounds from Friday and Saturday to Saturday and Monday as a result of a massive snowstorm in the southwestern part of the state, where the tournament was due to be held. (That same snowstorm has caused state skiing to alter its schedule.)
A snowstorm is expected to drop 1-2 feet of snow in the southwestern part of the state on Friday. As a result, the Intermountain’s semifinals are now Saturday, and championship and third-place games are Monday.
Seeding of the 3A tournament will now take place on Tuesday morning. Both the boys and girls 3A tournaments are scheduled to begin play on Friday.
