Payton Brgoch led the way with 15 kills and five blocks as No. 2 Lutheran volleyball swept No. 5 Valley in a top-5 Class 3A matchup on Thursday.
It was a season-opening match for both teams.
Abby Akers also had seven kills for the Lions, while Kennedey Johnson added 15 assists, six kills and two aces. Bella Vezzani had 14 digs, and Lexi Wilmoth had 12 assists.
Valley’s Kenzie Ray had nine kills to lead her team, Heather Meining had 11 digs, and Delaney Eckhardt had 13 assists.
Lutheran will play No. 8 Resurrection Christian next Tuesday, while Valley moves on to play Weld Central that same day.
