Laird drives in six as Pueblo South softball takes down No. 2 Air Academy

Camryn Laird went 3-for-4 and drove in six runs as Pueblo South softball scored a big upset over No. 2 Air Academy on Thursday.

The 16-7 win improves Pueblo South’s overall record to 4-0 this year.

The Colts went into the top if the third trailing 2-1, and that’s when the bats woke up.

They scored nine runs over the next two innings and Hallie Faris was able to limit the damage the Kadets could at the plate from there on out.

Karsen Romines went 2-for-3, driving in a run and scoring twice for Air Academy.

The Kadets will open league play on Wednesday when they travel to Vista Ridge.

The Colts will see heavy action this weekend when they head to the Erie Tournament of Champions. They’ll face Chouteau-Mazie (Olka.) in their first game on Saturday.
