It may not look like there was a lot of change in the CHSAANow.com girls lacrosse rankings, but up closer inspection quite a bit changed from a week ago.
Sure no new teams broke into the top 10 this week, but the overall makeup of the poll is drastically different from the previous poll.
And the big change is very close to the top.
Colorado Academy is still No. 1 in the rankings, but it’s Columbine who now sits behind them at No. 2.
Cherry Creek, who held that No. 2 spot last week, drops to No. 4 with Kent Denver still firmly sitting at No. 3.
Denver East jumped one spot to No. 5 and Dakota Ridge got the attention of the voters to climb three spots to No. 6.
Chaparral (No. 7) and ThunderRidge (No. 8) maintained their positions from last week’s rankings. Mullen dropped to No. 9 and Pine Creek remained at No. 10.
The rankings, voted upon by coaches and select media members, are the official polls of the Association.
During the regular season, polls are announced each Monday.
Complete rankings for all classes are below.
