Liberty wrestling coach Roger Stewart-Frederick won the freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling tournaments at Veterans Nationals over the weekend.
Stewart-Frederick, in his second year as the coach at Liberty, was competing at the tournaments in Las Vegas. He won gold in Greco-Roman while competing in the 58 kg Division B bracket on Friday, then turned around and won the same bracket for freestyle on Saturday.
Stewart-Frederick was one of 18 double champions over the weekend.
“We are very proud of what he has accomplished, and what he does for the Liberty High School student/athletes,” Liberty athletic director Michael Sibley wrote in an email.
