Jim Bartok, the longtime girls basketball coach who is now at Vista PEAK, won his 400th career game on Tuesday night.
Bartok has had a highly successful 26-year career as a head coach, which includes three years at Cherokee Trail, seven at Columbine, and 15 at Ponderosa. His 400 career wins rank among the top seven in state history.
Bartok is in his second year coaching at Vista PEAK. The Bison went 10-13 last season, and are now 16-5 in Class 4A in 2015-16. This season’s 16 wins (so far) are the most in the four-year history of the program. In fact, Vista PEAK’s girls have never before had a winning season.
Bartok’s Bison beat Skyview 40-31 on Tuesday. Deme Moore had 13 points, and Brooklynn Grieve scored nine.
