LAFAYETTE — In a top-ten cross-class clash, 4A No. 6 Niwot shutout 3A No. 5 Peak to Peak, 4-0, on Thursday.

Niwot completely controlled the ball throughout the first half and had several chances, but Peak to Peak goalie Nate Fangman was an outstanding stone wall and kept the game scoreless after the first half.

Fangman saved Mark Ramirez’s penalty shot with an outstanding diving stop in the 50th minute. He couldn’t keep the team on his back forever, and the wall crumbled with Max Brown ‘s goal on an assist from Ramirez a minute later.

Then, the floodgates opened as Niwot poured in three more goals to take the game. Jake Feiner, Ramirez and Evan Kratochvil all scored with Brian Oates and Feiner getting assists.

Peak to Peak outscored their other opponents 15 to 3 en route to their 3-0 record, but they couldn’t handle the 4A No. 6 Cougars, who improve to 3-0.
