Rain continues to have its way with the spring postseason.

The majority of the baseball districts in Class 2A-5A that were originally scheduled for Saturday have been postponed to next Monday or Tuesday. Some will try to play Sunday, but only five are still scheduled for Saturday, as of 10:30 a.m.

All five are on the Western Slope, where rain hasn’t been as heavy and constant compared to other parts of the state, which have faced storms bringing rain, lightning and hail off and on since last Sunday.

The storms have already forced the postponement of 5A and 4A tennis to next Monday-Wednesday, and also the delay of the 1A baseball bracket.

In 5A, the only district still scheduled for Saturday is District 4 in Fruita Monument. District 5, which was to be hosted by Rock Canyon at Valor Christian’s turf field, postponed early Saturday morning.

Fruita’s district has delayed the first game two hours, and the Rocky Mountain-Smoky Hill contest has been moved to Fruita Monument High School at 1 p.m.

The only 4A district to get play in was District 5 in Montrose. That district completed the first game, but then delayed its second game and the title game to Sunday. District 2 (at Durango) postponed its games at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, and will try to play on Sunday.

In 3A, Olathe (District 6) and Bayfield (District 7) will still host Saturday, but both are running on delays. Eaton’s District 1 was hopeful it would be able to play, but also postponed early Saturday.

Three 2A districts — 1, 5, and 7 — were able to complete play earlier this week, but five others remain. Of those, only District 2 (in Delta) remains on track for Saturday.

Games must be completed by Tuesday in order to keep the rest of the state tournaments on schedule.

A complete schedule for the remaining districts which have been postponed is available on the individual bracket pages, which are constantly being updated:
